A Magical Silver Beach Wedding in St. Joseph, Michigan – Sarah & Jacob’s Cosplay Celebration
There are weddings that are beautiful, and then there are weddings that feel like stepping into an entirely different world. Sarah and Jacob’s wedding at Silver Beach in St. Joseph, Michigan was the latter—a joyful celebration where love met imagination, and the result was nothing short of magical.
From the moment I arrived, I knew this wasn’t going to be your typical beach wedding. Guests were invited to cosplay, and they showed up in full force. From Jedi to elves, from Frodo to Captain Picard, the mix of sci-fi and fantasy brought so much fun and personality to the day. Even the officiant joined in the fun, dressed as Gandalf! Watching her lead Sarah and Jacob through their vows against the backdrop of Lake Michigan was unforgettable—a scene that felt pulled right out of a storybook.
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. Sunshine danced across the water, and a gentle breeze kept everyone comfortable as Sarah and Jacob said “I do.” Sarah looked radiant, and Jacob’s smile never left his face. What made the day even more special was how effortlessly the theme reflected who they are as a couple: playful, adventurous, and deeply connected.
After the ceremony, Sarah and Jacob courageously climbed a small dune where we found a secluded area away from the regular public for a wonderful portrait session looking over Lake Michigan and the lighthouse.
As the evening went on, the celebration only grew more vibrant. After the couple's first dance there was a mass lightsaber battle where Costumed guests battled, danced, and toasted to Sarah and Jacob’s new chapter together. It was a reminder that weddings don’t have to follow tradition to be meaningful—they simply have to be true to the couple at the heart of it all.
Sarah and Jacob’s Silver Beach wedding was a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do.
